Charlie's reminds me of the diners I used to go to with my grandparents. The staff are very friendly, attentive and kind. Portions are huge, the food is delicious and the coffee flow never stopped. Lots of regulars, plenty of parking and no wait. Highly recommend!
Absolutely phenomenal!!! Husband and I were in town for a week and I was craving pancakes. We hit this place up, and it's immediately getting added to our "places to return to". Good prices, super yummy food, a great selection on their menu, and fast quality service.
Old family restaurant business and nothing like great service, friendly staff and good wholesome food!! I keep going back! The Charlie's Breakfast special is bar none the BEST in town!
This restaurant is definitely unique in that it is truly 100% old school and gives you that nice feeling of a small family style restaurant. The service was great, upon entering we were greeted very nicely and our server was very kind & attentive as well. The food is hearty and filling. The portions were good and the pricing was extremely affordable as well. You can tell that most people that come here are regulars - that's always a good sign. I had the chicken fried steak. It was very tasty and what I expected ( that's a good thing!). I also shared the Texas French toast with my partner. It was delicious not too sweet and just right. If you're seeking a hearty breakfast on a weekend without long lines and tired of trendy brunches.. this is the place to be!
Brought my dad for a some father daughter breakfast. He really enjoyed his steak and eggs. The portioned were decent. I had the Charlie special, my eggs weren't very seasoned. The pancakes and hashbrowns were super good. Will be back again for breakfast.
Thought I would try out another nice family restaurant and I'm so happy I did. I brought my Mom out to lunch and since I'm on Hawaiian time (3 hours) behind. It all worked out for us. I got breakfast and my mom got lunch. Everything we tried was delicious. The other winner is their homemade pies I came back at least 4 different times and tried most of their Pies. The Staff are really all very nice which makes this restaurant my new fave in Escondido. Much Mahalo to you All
